I spent close to an hour on the phone tonight with my good friend, Robby LeBlanc. Robby is in the process of putting togethor a great new product called teh ABCs of marketing and is currently in the process of interviewing hwat I call the who’s who of marketing. I can’t reveal too many details yet, but once it is officially released, I will be sure to let everyone know. Tonights interview was the second for me. Last night we started recording , and was really on a roll, and then a technical glitch stopped us and we had to pick it up this evening.

In the interview, I go over some of the basics of blogging on both your own site with Wordpress, as well as using some of the free blogging providers out there to get your feet wet without spending a dime. Robby was able to keep me on track and prevent me from getting too technical to make sure everyis able to understand what it takes to setup your own blog, the benefits, and how to get traffic started to your own blog in days if not hours.

After the call last night, I went out to blogger.com and setup a new account just to refresh my memory, and check out some of the new features they added. After creating the blog, I followed some of the new techniques I have been learning through the Thirty Day Challenge and found out this morning I was already ranked #15 out 1.82 million for a pretty good phrase. It reminded of the good old days when we first started out with Directory Generator from Armand Morin, however this time, I was posting much more legitimate content then the wild west days a few years ago.

I also found many more features available on blogger than when we first started using it and was able to integrate the blog with Google Analytics in order to track the traffic on the blogger hosted account even without having access to the website logs like I do on my own site.

Google Analytics has some really powerfull features as well to help you track your conversions through out your whole website, from Lead Acquisition, to Sale, to Upsell and beyond. The reporting and graphs are very impressive and I will definitely be spending more time in September diving into Google Analytics more and integrating it into more of our website to get an even more clear picture of exactly what is happening on all of our site.

I also am expecting to put togethor new video training detailing exactly how we are using Google Analytics and offering that when we relaunch Internet Marketing Helpdesk.

While the recording from tonight about bloggin is not available yet, it will be announced later in September on Robby’s site, Motivator Monday - Under the title of ABCs of Marketing.
