That’s right folks, if you have placed a home for sale ad on the Salt Lake Cragislist, you probably got an email from him just like I did today. A very subtle subject line there John, “6% 30yr fixed no points Preffered Mortgage, Sandy,UT”. You even spelled your company name wrong.
For those of you out there that do not realize it, this is considered SPAM, and is punishable by fines. If you reply to a Cragislist post that has specified that they do not wish to be contacted for other services or commercial interest and you send them an email offering services, that is SPAM. The poster of the ad on Craigslist has had no prior contact with you and has not requested your services.
If you are interested in a mortgage or would simply like to SPAM John back, you can email him at john@rebow.com, or give him a call on his cell phone at 801-205-1239 and let him know what we think about the flood of unsolicited email flooding our inboxes these days.
I realize the mortgage industry has taken a hit recently, but really John, you should take some online marketing course and refine your process.

John Lesser is a reputable lender. Its fraud pimps like you with your get rich quick programs that sell people snake oil to make you rich and sucker them into debt.

I did not question John’s reputation as a lender, however the method of emailing people who have posted their house for sale on Craigslist.org is SPAM. The reason it is spam, is we don’t have any established relationship for him to followup with me by email. Craiglist.org provides a checkbox that you can check if you do not want recieve commercial emails like what John had sent.
Now for your other comment:

What on my blog make you feel that I am a “fraud pimp” and what on my blog do you feel is a get rich quick program?
If John would like to respond, and apologize for spamming my post, I will be happy to remove the post. I had responded to John’s email, however I have have never received a response because it was SPAM and since he didn’t respond, I expect he already knew that.
Once again, I am NOT questioning his reputation as a lender or person, simply his marketing methods of spamming people posting houses for sale on Craigslist.org.
