One of my goals for 2008 is to help 1,000 entrepreneurs around the world build their business through microcredit. A few months ago, I started loaning money to entrepreneurs around the world through the website Kiva.org. This weekend I was speaking with my friend Robby LeBlanc, an incredible guitarist from Las Vegas, about the loans I have been making on Kiva.org. We were also going over our goals for 2008, an I mentioned one of my goals over the next few years was to help 1000 businesses through Kiva.org. On the way home, Robby called to let me know, he has also set this goal and is pledging to match my contributions as we progress through this challenge.
Robby is beginning a new adventure in January to lose over 100 pounds, and climb Mount Kilamanjaro in August 2008. He will be putting up two new websites in January to start receiving sponsored donations by the pound or by the foot, raising money for two causes, one with donations to Kiva.org. The second to help build schools in developing countries along with our friend, Stu McLaren and his new bride, Amy Dow.
To participate in my challenge, simply donate whatever amount you can through the button below, and I will use 100% of the money to fund loans through Kiva.org.
On our way to 1000 businesses, I will continue to update this post with our progress, and the entrepreneurs we are helping.
This program is what I am calling an Infinite Giving Program, because the money donated will continue to be loaned through Kiva.org each time it is paid back. This way, the benefits received through the donation continue indefinitely.
Once again, simply click the button below and make your donation through Paypal.com.
Thanks for your generosity,
Kevin
