Get A Tip From Your Blog Readers With ScratchBack TopSpots Widget

Jan 11th, 2008 | By Kevin | Category: How To, Training Video, You Tube, blogging, make money

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed with Feedburner. Thanks for visiting!

In today’s video, Shawn Collins from AffiliateTip.com talks about adding the TopSpots widget to your blog. In the last few weeks I have come across several blogs using the widget and decided to use it as well. You can easily customize the widget as far as what price you want to set and how long the links should remain on the widget.

Currently, on my widget to the right, links are only a dollar, and the link will remain active until it gets push down and eventually off the widget by other advertisers. Now is the time to get in on my topspots while there are not many people advertising, and the price is still a dollar.

If you are using the TopSpots Widget, leave a comment linking to your site and let people know. I will be searching out other TopSpots users and buying ads next week. It is a much easier way to get links than racking up Entrecard credits.

P.S. This is another free option to help monetize your blog, even if it is only enough for a few beers…

  1. Hi Kevin !!
I also feel that this scratchback is a great tool though it wont give much except to get a beer !
But its a great tool compared to Entrecard.

I have just added it to my blog
    :)

  2. Hey Kevin!

I found this resource around mid-December and added it to my site too. I have one advertiser on there (i have it set to stay until it gets pushed off so they are getting their $1 worth!).

I just signed up for yours and several others, since I joined. I think it’s a good way to get your marketing dollars to go a long way! Especially if they will let it ride.

I only signed up for one with a time limit - 30 days, no two! I forgot. I got a spot on Affiliate Summit for quite awhile tho I think they have changed their blog completely and it is not even there any more.

Your post and the video inspired my thinking about how to proceed with the widget. I think I wil change it to $2 once it fills up, and keep adding $1 per rotation, assuming I get it filled!

My one concern is that, having used their holiday themed widget, can I change it and allow the advertiser to stay in the queue?

I didn’t see a way to do that on the ScratchBack site.

    Got any ideas??

  3. Hi Pam,

Thanks for the buck. I just tested changing the widget, and you can change without any problems, simply login to your scratchback account and click the link to update your widget. The second screen in the sequence gives you the option to change the color scheme, etc. This has no impact on visitors that have already purchased links. When you complete the update sequence, the will give you new widget code to replace what you already have on your blog. Once that is done you should have the new widget without the holiday theme.

I think your premise of raising the price by a buck once it fills up is a great idea. At first I had a more expensive price for a timeframe but changed it to a buck with the bump feature to give buyers the best value possible.

I am planning to several links this month to get some cheap links on some decent traffic blogs.

    Kevin
