Alexa Redirect has gone bye-bye!

As I was doing a final surf through Entrecard sites, I came across one for EJ Cooksey’s blog, which was using the fabled Alexa Redirect to get a bump on her alexa rating. It seems Alexa has disabled this service on 1/10/08 according to some reports. I came across another blog that was a dead link earlier this weekend but didn’t bother to look at the address bar.
Here is the report I found of the demise. As the report says, there are probably thousands of site out there using this technique, including some article links in article directories. If you are using it, you may want to change your link if you can, because they are now going nowhere.

Thanks for the headsup on this…luckily I was only using this on the Entrecard site and I changed it on 1/10/08 when they quit doing the redirect.

It seems like EntreCard keeps the old card information on any ads you have placed prior to updating your link or image. I ran across several more yesterday as I was visiting other Entrecard sites. I imagine there are a lot of purchased links out there using the redirect.
