We Are Now Supporting - You Comment, I Follow
Jan 17th, 2008 | By Kevin | Category: How To, bloggingIf you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed with Feedburner. Thanks for visiting!
Recently, I have been noticing a movement by some bloggers on the Blogosphere to start removing the NoFollow tag from their comment section on their posts. For Wordpress, there are a couple of plugins to do it. For Blogger blogs, you’ll need to modify your template.
Tonight, we have installed a plugin from Semiologic, to turn off the No Follow tag here at KevinHDavis.com to start spreading the link love, and in an effort to create a mutually beneficial relationship in hopes that you may honor us more frequently with comments as you see fit. For the Spammers out there, we are running Akismet, so heavy link spam comment are automatically filtered out and deleted with ruthless abandon. However, for legitimate bloggers out there interested in leaving a quality comment or pingback to a quality post, we will be giving you a direct link.
Recently, our PR increased from PR1 to PR3 through some comment and pingbacks I have done on a coupe major blogs. I am now watching several blogs for more opportunities for commenting, and will begin specifically targeting blogs that have joined the No Follow Movement.
If you are a blogger that is also using No Follow, please add a comment and let us know your thought and why you removed the tag on your blog.
If you think we are all crazy for removing the tag, feel free to leave a comment as well and let us know why you think blogger shouldn’t remove the tag.
Leave a comment and share the love,
Kevin

I think it’s a great idea. At first you may get some spammers but over time the quality will be there. Sort of like Entrecard, you’ll get your chaindroppers but then every once in awhile someone will comment, then they’ll read more, then they’ll actually subscribe. Kind of like me!
