AWeber To Start Reporting RSS Subscriber Counts To Feedburner
Jan 19th, 2008 | By Kevin | Category: Email Marketing, blogging, mailing listIf you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed with Feedburner. Thanks for visiting!
For email subscriptions to our feed here at KevinHDavis.com, we have been using AWeber’s RSS autoresponder system. As I make a post, AWeber.com automatically schedules a new broadcast to our email subscribers. The downside of that is those subscribers are currently not included in our feedburner stats. According to Andy Beard at AndyBeard.eu, that’s about to change. Andy reported yesterday that AWeber has recently made an announcement that they will begin sharing subscriber counts with feedburner soon. This is great news, because I like maintaining all of my lists with AWeber.
He also mentioned another service called FeedBlitz which he hasn’t tried yet, and neither have I. In the comments for the post was a response from veteran marketer Jack Humphrey.
Jack said, ”
I just switched completely over to Feedblitz. I have to still move my AWEBER people over, but I’m tired of waiting for the old school to catch up.
I don’t need to personalize every damn email that goes out and I’m not in a niche where anyone is even impressed by that feature, which to me, is the only thing I am giving up.
They should have reported their numbers to Feedburner a long time ago. Too little too late.
My subscriber count went up by 3000 this week. Wonder if that’s my AWEBER subs. Think I will leave them there :)”
Jack publishes the Friday Traffic Report and is one of the founders of Content Desk. I have seen him speak a couple times, and he knows his stuff.
It sounds like Andy will be taking a closer look at FeedBlitz as well.
Do you have an email subscribe box on your blog?
As always, feel free to leave a comment and let us know what you think about Feedburner, FeedBlitz or AWeber.
May your lists grow huge in 2008,
Kevin
