Text IMNEWS to 41411

I spent some more time today checking out the services on Textmarks.com and have set up a new account to provide weekly alerts related to internet marketing. I plan to use this to announce the latest news, seminars, and products for the week. At the end of the signup process, of course their is an upsell. In this case, it was to buy a t-shirt. I took them up on the offer to complete the user experience and should be receiving the shirt to the left soon through Priority Mail.

I have set the subscription to the lower $4.99 a month price for this introductory period. I will be wearing this shirt at seminars I attend this year, and will probably get another one made for my partner Rick Dearr. Shoemoney also has Free Shirt Fridays, so I would like to get one made for Jeremy as well to get some exposure there.

I was surprised to find IMNEWS available. It is nice and short.

Beside a basic broadcast service, they also have the facility to use APIs (application program interfaces) to respond to text inquiries. So long term, we will probably put togethor a response system that will allow you to reply with a state code like UT and get the upcoming seminars for Utah. Another option might be to pass the gurus name, like Russell Brunson, and get a list of products or product launch schedule.

This brings up ideas on how to use it on JV launches as well. if you could get JV partners to subscribe, this would be a great way to keep them updated with contest stats for a launch, etc.

For affiliates you could also use this service for them to get their affiliate stats via their cellphone, by passsing or replying with their affiliate id.

This would also be a great direct marketing method for billboards, bus benches, tv commercials, movie theaters. Basically anywhere, someone would have their phone, but they are away from their computer.

What to you think about text messaging as a marketing medium?
