During my last post, I mentioned additional links showing up in the SERPs under a few major marketers blog. After more research today, I found the official
name
for these
is sitelinks.the official name for these is sitelinks. Since I updated my plugins and was able to get my google Sitemap up and running again, I was snooping around in Google Webmaster tools and found a page describing Sitelinks.
Besides that I also found another great article detailing out a lot of information about Sitelinks and speculations about the benefits and how to get them. The article is Google Sitelinks Explained from BlahBlahTech.com.
While the previous once I found seem to be directly related to having a sitemap plugin on a Wordpress blog, Robby found another one today, that was not wordpress, and did not have a sitemap where I normally find it.Â
You used to be able to use Google advanced search by filetype XML to find sitemaps as well, but nothing was found on this site. When I get home, I am going to check it with my Firefox browser with SEO plugin which tells whether or not a sitemap is found right with in the search results.
The site in question, also had a searchbox after the Sitelinks. HMMMM, Very Intersting.  Looking at the site, I also found a search box, but it appears to be wrapped in flash.
