While Laura and I don’t watch TV that much, we do enjoy some videos from YouTube when friends point them out.  This week, there was much talk about the interview between Sarah Palin and Katie Couric.  While watching those and the reactions of some other people on YouTube, I came across this interview with Matt Damon as well.

The interview with Katie was extremely painful and many of the reactions were like Matt Damon’s.  This is definitely going to be an interesting election.  If you look at the graphs of activity on Twitter about Sarah Palin, you will find a lot of “tweets”.  I haven’t taken a closer look to see whether they are positive or negative, but I gather it is much like a traffic jam following a car wreck.  No matter how hard you try to turn away, you become mesmerized by the disaster.

  2. Palin is well beyond ‘hockey mom’. Does he think most hockey moms go on to become a mayor, and then on to Governor, and THEN on to VP candidate? She is not an ordinary woman by a long shot.. Is he for Obama? Does he think Obamas few years as a Senator and few years as a state legislator qualify HIM to become president? He is unaware that Obama has nearly zero foreign policy experience? Because he’s a man he will be more effective in staring down Putin?

What is the correlation between nuclear codes and dinosaur extinction??

I love watching celebrities become pundits lol

  3. Hi Ryan,

It’s not a question of man or woman, it’s a question of is she capable of replacing McCain if he croaks in office. Dude, i can’t believe you can actually watch any interview or canned address from Palin and honestly say she is the best running mate McCain could have picked.

This is not even getting into whether or not McCain is nothing more than 4 more years of the same old policy.

I realize I am in the most red state in the union but there is a point when you need to abandon party lines and vote based on the reality before you.

I have watched some earlier interviews with Palin and she is totally different. Is she getting stoned before going on these interviews or do they give here only one canned answer and she has no idea what to say on her own.

  4. The comment was on Damons foolish criticism of Palin based on the town where she served as Mayor. I was also laughing at how seriously he was concerned about her position on the extinction of the dinosaurs as related to her access to nuclear codes…

I don’t know if she will be the best successor if McCain croaks but the pick was strategic. McCain saw America swooning over the charismatic ‘fresh face’ of Obama, realized that maybe that type was more important to America then a politician with experience, so he chose his own fresh face to sell the brand. If you’re going to criticize Palin for her lack of experience, you have to be prepared to do the same for Obama.

Our election has become a popularity contest, we’ve thrown the issues out the window a long time ago.
