In this video, Sage Lewis from SageRock.com shares some of his thoughts on link building and how his company goes about getting links for their customers.
The days of buying and exchanging links are gone. It may take extra effort but in the end investing in link building will be weel worth the cost and effort. Sage also talks about link farms and other things that don’t work.
One of the top things to keep in mind when getting links is the link text that is used. You should be linking with your keyword text not simply your domain name. Second, you should be linking to specific pages in your site instead of building all of your links to the root of the domain. This will help build the link juice across the site instead of just the index page. This is a big factor if you are looking to improve your Google PR. Persoanlly, I don’t think PR has much of an affect anymore, but Google is starting to update the PR ratings more often lately.
Hope you enjoy the video,
Kevin
