It’s official, Brian Gardner, creator of the Revolution series of Wordpress themes has discontinued the sale of the previous premium themes. As of November 1st, Revolution has gone open source. Before you get all excited and hope to find them on theme directories across the net, there is a twist. From what I can tell, inorder to download the themes you need to purchase either a year or lifetime support license.
The good news, the licensing is far less than the original prices for the premium themes. The one year license is $99. The lifetime license is $149, kind of a no brainer to get the lifetime huh?
This licensing includes all of the Revolution 2 themes currently available along future themes being developed. The licensing also allows the themes to be used on any of your Wordpress installations or your clients which is great news for anyone providing blog services.
The quality of the themes under the new model has not been degraded from Brian’s original work, the new themes look great.
