The Giant Time Suck
Nov 6th, 2008 | By Kevin | Category: Featured Posts, Marketing This WeekToday I was seduced into working with UStream again, trying to get everything setup to include overlays in my video stream and to be able to switch easily between my camera and screen capture to walk through website reviews, etc. For me, video has become a giant time suck, and UStream has aplified that.
I am losing focus of our primary project and realize that UStream might not be the best use of my time right now. At least not by trying to get it perfect and be the next Chris Pirrillo or Gary Vaynerchuk. At this point, I think I will still try to stay on track with a weekly broadcast for Marketing This Week but with a simple webcam or my existing video camera with usb streaming.
I plan to also take the recorded audio and post that here as a podcast each week. Earlier I reported on the problems we had with Podpress. I still need to check out the other plugin that was mentioned in the comments for that post.
I just downloaded WebCamMax as recommended by Ustream and giving that a try under Vista. It looks better than the others. Haven’t been able to figure out how to use it with Camtasia yet.
Tommorrow night, no UStream…
I need to focus on releasing the next set of videos on InternetMarketingHelpdesk.com
