Email Marketing Pt.2 – 3 More Proven Steps to Success

Sep 7th, 2009 | By Kevin | Category: Email Marketing

In my first article on email marketing we learned the importance of researching your market, finding out if they had money to spend online for your product, and the importance of knowing your product inside out.

Let’s now move on to some other essential steps for success and begin this endeavor with the right knowledge and attitude to become profitable in the shortest amount of time.

Just remember this key point…Build yourself a highly targeted opt in list. These loyal subscribers will become your life blood and ticket to kicking the boss to the curb in the near future.

1. Create a 3, 5, or 7 part email mini course to give to your existing or future email opt in list. By providing your future customers with solid and usable information about your product you will build a relationship with them and even more so…Trust. Do not let this step scare you. There is a multitude of information on the Internet to help you gather any facts you may need to help with providing content to your subscribers. In addition to that..if you hate to type or can’t spell worth a lick, like me, there is a free recording tool you can use to simply record your voice and a very inexpensive transcribing company to turn your spoken words into written text in a timely and efficient manner. That’s powerful stuff. I use them myself.

2. Find yourself a great domain name and an inexpensive yet powerful hosting service. You do not need a web site to accumulate your opt-in list and future customers, however , unless you are going to manage the whole show using your own system and time, it is highly recommended. Domain names can be purchased for as little as 8.95 and hosting your domain can be had for free (although this is not the way to go). A hosting service for as little as 5.95/month is far more suitable and reliable. Godaddy.com is just one of hundreds of companies that provide these services.

3.Create yourself a “squeeze page” that you will drive traffic to through several different means. There are many inexpensive and free software products available to easily create these pages for you. I however would recommend using an inexpensive well established company to assist you with this and save you precious time and perhaps a headache or two if you’re not tech savvy. A squeeze page, as they are referred to in Internet lingo, is simply a short page that sits on your web site and explains some benefits and will entice your future customers to provide you with an email address in exchange for something you will provide them. (Preferably for free.) See step 1.
