Why Those Who Expect Free Website Traffic Fail Online

There are those who come online expecting to get oodles of traffic to their websites for free. This “free” mentality makes them take steps that really sabotage their efforts. Here are a few reasons why their failure is guaranteed…

1) Although there is something referred to as free search engine traffic, you don’t get it for free. Even if you do not spend a dime from your pocket to achieve it, it doesn’t come for free. This is unless you think your time and energy are worth nothing.

For you to rank high enough to get good traffic from the search engines, you have to build pages that are keyword-focused and high value in content. If you build a trashy site, you will not last in a top position even if you manage to get their by some means.

Building such pages will cost you in time and or money. Let’s say it takes you an average of 2 hours to build each page and do all that is necessary to get ranked highly. Will you consider any traffic that results from that free?

2) The free mentality makes it difficult for website owners to pay for tools, resources and services that will make them get more done in less time. They always look at it from the point of view of what they pay out of the pocket and not what they “pay” by using their time or what they lose because they’ve refused to spend a little for better results.

3) A freebie mentality makes them fall for ineffective methods that are very commonplace online. And this affects the quality of stuff they present to their visitors. If you want to give utmost value, it will cost you. If what you offer your visitors costs nothing, then it’s worth nothing. And if you give worthless stuff, you can’t build a business that will thrive online.

4) The freebie mentality also makes them lose on cutting edge information that would have made the difference in their internet businesses. Granted, sooner or later all the secrets in those great books will get out. However, those who make use of them first will make the most from their information all other things being equal.

5) Any business that does not spend does not get period. You can spend a lot without getting but you can’t get without spending. What you spend in order to get your website may be much time and little money. But spend you must if you want to see any reasonable traffic at your website.
