The passing of a gentle giant…

Jim Rohn passed away this weekend on December 5th.

Jim was one of those mentors, I listened to often and always hoped to meet someday.

Many of his teachings, were profoundly simple thanks to the stories told of his mentor.  He focused on Personal Development.  If you want to change to occur, it is up to you.  A principle that has made a great impact on my life.

If you are unhappy with your job or situation, you shouldn’t wait for the situation to improve you need to take action.  Too many times, we get stuck in a pity party and think the world around us should change.  The only way change occurs is if some other force acts upon the situation.  Why wait for someone else to take action to change the situation instead of yourself?

Jim Rohn touched the lives of many through his speaking, and will be greatly missed.  I guess this is the brick to let me know if i truly want to meet Zig Ziglar, I better take some action.  Zig is now 83 years young, but we never know when our time may come.

Here are three classic Jim Rohn videos on “How to Have Your Best Year Ever”

I have a bittersweet feeling now that JIm passed away, first because I had the honor to have met him and got his Philosophy directly from him, second is for the reason that whatever he came to this world to do, he did it and more! he gave it all, and I’m sure that he’s now looking at us telling us that is our turn to do the same. And third because he is where is supposed to be right at this moment……like he used to say: “I’ll never leave you behind, I’ll take you in my heart and in my soul, as well as I go with you, in your notes that you wrote today”

I’ll always remember Jim, since he is the person that taught me: For things to change, I had to change! for things to get better, I had to get better! and I did, somehow. He is the person that told me I should get a library card and actually use it. And conventional education would give me a good life, however, self education would take even farther.
    God Bless you Jim.
