PPC Keyword Research – Learn To Do It The Right Way & Increase Your Profits!

PPC keyword research is probably the most critical keyword research that you can do as an Internet Marketer. That’s because, unlike optimizing a web page to rank well on the natural search engine results, with PPC keyword research (Pay-Per-Click), you will be paying for the results that those keywords generate. When you are looking for keywords to use in a PPC campaign like Google Adwords where you will be paying for each and every click on your ads and so it is absolutely essential that you find the “right” keywords to use and so PPC keyword research becomes extremely important in relation to your overall profitability.

The “right” keywords, in this case, are those that are going to lead into a visitor performing whatever action it is that you want them to ultimately take, whether it’s purchasing a product that you are advertising, signing up for your opt-in newsletter or some other desired action.

Selecting the “right” keywords can be tricky, as anyone who has done any amount of PPC advertising will attest to. Ultimately, the process breaks down into two distinct steps. First is assembling the largest list of relevant keywords that you can and then secondly, actually testing them in your PPC campaign, tracking the results that you obtain.

To build a massive list of keywords can be a somewhat intimidating task. There are a number of ways to do it. You can use free tools like the Adwords keyword tool available at https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal or the Overture keyword tool available at http://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/.

The problem with using the free tools is that your competition is probably using them as well. In order to get a “leg up” you need to go one step further than that.

The process becomes much easier and more effective when you decide to perform your PPC keyword research with a “paid” tool and the one that I have had the most luck with is called “Keywords Analyzer”. Keywords Analyzer has been available for over three years now, with updates being made on a regular basis by its developers, Chris Lee and Goran Nagy.

In addition to generating massive keyword lists, Keywords Analyzer can be setup to display the number of ads that are shown for each keyword in both Adwords and in the Yahoo PPC network. It also displays the number of competing ads on Adwords and Yahoo, the maximum bid prices and much more. Keywords Analyzer makes your PPC keyword research much easier and more effective.

Because Adwords changes its algorithms so often, software applications must be updated on a regular basis to remain functional with the new changes and that is one area where Keywords Analyzer shines. The developers work hard at staying on top of their application, releasing updates whenever necessary to keep up with Google’s changes.

After you have generated your initial keyword list using the PPC keyword research tool of your choice, your keywords will need to be grouped into smaller lists. When advertising in Adwords or any other PPC program, the key to remember is “relevance”. Showing an ad designed for “Adwords software” to someone who has clicked on the keyword phrase “Adwords eBook reviews” is probably not the best strategy. You need to do more than your initial PPC keyword research.

Instead, arrange your keywords into groups that have at least one word in common. In the previous example, it would make sense to have all keyword phrases relating to “Adwords eBooks” in a separate Ad Group from those relating to “Adwords software”. This enables you to then create separate ads more closely targeting whatever it is your viewer is searching for. This will result in a higher CTR for your campaign and should result in a higher sales conversion rate as well.

PPC marketing is an art composed of many pieces besides PPC keyword research that are all woven together. All aspects of your Pay-Per-Click efforts need to be working together and one of the most critical ones is your PPC keyword research. Learning to do PPC keyword research more effectively will be reflected in an increase in your profitability.

Avoid Temptation When Doing Keyword Research

21 Jun

To be successful on the web, you must provide solutions to the problems your visitors have. Keyword research is the key to figuring out what those problems are.

Whether you are pursuing search engine optimization or even PPC, understanding what your potential customers or clients want is where the game is. Despite everything you have read about ecommerce, marketing, web design and so on, there is one true theme to making money on the web. Figure out what people need and provide a solution. Just to be clear, you should charge money for the solution! Can’t leave that out.

Keyword research is the way to figure out what people need. They are, after all, typing in their need. One of the first keywords to research, of course, is “buy.” If you get ranked under such a keyword phrase as it relates to your site and products or services, you are going to do okay. Regardless, the idea is to research just about every possible phrase related to your products or service and then make sure you take the necessary steps to get in front of people using those phrases when they search.

You will often be told that keyword research is exciting. It is, after all, the yellow brick road to your client’s hearts. In truth, it can be less than enthralling. This is particularly true if you have a site with a large scope of products or services. Doing keyword research for a site like Amazon, for instance, would be torturous. Regardless, you probably will not be sitting all perky at your computer when you are doing the research. This can lead to problems.

You are going to run into temptation when researching your niche. What is temptation? It is a keyword phrase that does not really fit your site, but is sort of close. The evil little bugger on one shoulder will start saying, “Come on, it is close enough. Just go for it. Who is going to know!” At this point, you will start thinking to yourself that the site doesn’t really offer anything technically for the keyword phrase, but visitors will probably be interested in your stuff that is kind of the same.

So, should you incorporate such phrases into your site? I’ve done it as have others. You can do it as well. Personally, I’ve found it adds traffic, but not much in the way of revenues. I’ve stopped doing it and taken a different tact. Instead of falling to temptation, I try to go out and find the solution to whatever the keyword phrase is suggesting is a problem. Ah, now we have revenues! In some situations, however, this simply isn’t possible and I just skip over the phrase. Others, of course, would advise grabbing it anyways.

When doing keyword research for a site, I find sticking strictly to your niche is the key. If you fall to temptation, you are probably going to be disappointed with the results anyway. Now, if only Angelina Jolie would tempt me…

This article will explain briefly how Forum marketing can really drive targeted traffic to your sites. Forum marketing has so far helped businesses and non-profits succeed in making connections, getting and giving practical information and recognition.

There are different kinds of Forums you can use to build your business by driving maximum traffic to your site. You need to really investigate various forums and select from the list of forums that you find relevant to your business. You will most likely have to join the forums you choose, and it is important that you familiarize yourself with the different forums you register with.

Always work on making attractive posts with some useful information for others. The people are more caught up by the catchy ads, so make sure that your ads can easily grab people’s attention. Make sure you don’t just post some advertising messages of your business straight away on forums because that would certainly not help you in any way. In fact, it would lead to expulsion and can get you into trouble.

The easiest way to generate traffic to your site is to spend some time in making regular posts on the forums you have joined. Traffic generation can be easy if you pay attention to making good forum posts.

A SIG File would also be very helpful to use in forums. A SIG file is a block of text at the end of the message. It identifies the sender and provides additional information about them. A SIG file can easily be attached to the end of your messages on forums. Sometimes, SIG files can include signature art or just humorous sayings.

It also helps to automatically rotate the messages, so that the frequent recipients are not subjected to seeing the same message again and again. Usually, a SIG file is very useful in business since it can include your contact information and business promotion. Contact information includes name, job title, company name, phone#, fax#, website address and some brief benefits of your products and services.

Making posts on Forums isn’t hard, but you have to be very careful to read the agreement terms that the Forums have. Usually, the forums do not encourage giving out contact information and doing any kind of promotional work. Spamming is just not allowed in forums, so please be extra careful before you post on forums.

You can always go through the policies of forums and choose forums that you are comfortable with to make posts on. It is definitely not as hard as it might sound because forums are the easiest way to reach out to get targeted traffic.

Forums are really useful in understanding the expectations of targeted traffic. If you know the interests of people then it becomes a lot easier for you to meet the expectations of people through your products and services.

Be confident with the forums and your posts, follow the rules and policies of different forums and you are guaranteed success in getting targeted traffic to your site.
